'Sentimental Piano Concert' by Levente Egry & The Artofonic Chamber Orchestra

The music displayed on this album is that of passion and understanding. Of course, all classical music is predetermined, meaning all parts of the piece have already been written (including the notes, the dynamics, and the tempo). But sometimes it can feel more like an exercise in sound than it a piece of music. However this is not the case here, as Levente Egry and the Artofontic Chamber Orchestra meld wonderfully, creating rich pieces that develop and blossom into beautiful, emotional works of art. The layering of all of the different instruments are beautiful. Levente has an ear for arrangements, and each piece has been arranged to perfection; effectively arranging a piece allows different instruments to flow in and out of the piece as well as intertwine with each other without ever creating a messy sound. There is also a nice variety on this album. There are different time signatures used (4/4 and 3/4 are apparent- 3/4 is considered to be the composers tempo, meaning it is used quite often in classical music), tempo and dynamic are varied here, and even different styles such as latin make an appearance on this album. It is really nice to hear such varied music within each piece; it gives the album as a whole a very refreshing feel. This is a great, accessible album that remains true to genuine classical music, yet is varied enough to make it's way into the listening circles of people who typically stay away from classical music.
